You’ll likely click on five to 15 web pages before you’ll get tired of wading through the links that don’t include the content you’re looking for. Within those five to 15 pages, you’ll find maybe two that were helpful. But darned if you can remember which ones they are once you’ve clicked around for a while.
The University of Idaho extension just made that painful process easier for you. With the creation of a new web page, they’ve included a collection of those valuable drought-specific links you’re looking for. Some links access webinars, others connect to articles, PDF files or publications, and others link to live websites.
The drought links are organized by category – irrigation scheduling, system management, potatoes, sugar beets, cereals, alfalfa, corn, livestock and range, and lawn and trees. Some are specific to Idaho, and some are applicable to most areas of the country, wherever drought occurs. In the category “other drought links,” readers will find national web links to the U.S. Drought Monitor, NOAA Climate Prediction Center, and other area and regional websites.
Now you only have to bookmark one page to find all the pertinent drought data as you plan for your crops. FG
