Ryegrasses are not typically known for handling drought periods. However, the company says that Albion has shown excellent performance throughout the U.S. under hot, humid and dry conditions.
According to a Missouri farmer's testimonial that was provided by the company, Albion “is extremely summer hardy, which suits us in Missouri, and summer hardiness is certainly linked to its winter survivability."
"Albion has out-yielded other permanent grasses by 22 percent in 2011 and 16 percent in 2012. We have not had a protein test below 25 percent yet and recovery of the swards – even after the 2012 drought – has been surprisingly good.” FG
