1. Swallow your pride
- When you talk about point number one, what you are really saying is: ask for help?
2. Tighten your belts
- Your second thing dairies need to do to stay in business was to “tighten their belts.” Explain what that means, and why it’s even more important right now, as cash flows for many dairy producers are increasing?
- How do you advise looking at the additional income from government funds when making projections for 2021?
3. Rip off the band-aids
- “Ripping off the band-aids” was your third recommendation for dairies that want to remain in the top tier of producers and stay in this business. What are examples of some of the band-aids you often see on dairies?
4. Bring your A-game
- Your fourth and final suggestion was for dairies to “bring their A-game” in order to keep a foothold in the future. What does that look like?
