A year in the making, the symposium will provide Canada’s dairy stakeholders with a forum for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

On Nov. 7, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a farm tour – and experience firsthand the sustainability initiatives Canada’s dairy farmers have implemented to improve animal care, traceability and food safety.

A wine and cheese reception at the Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa will conclude the first day.

The second day will explore what sustainability means throughout the dairy supply chain, from farm to table. Invited panelists include a dairy farmer as well as representatives of DFC, Loblaw Companies Ltd., Agropur Cooperative and the Canadian Dairy Network.

The presentations will also focus on the benefits of milk and milk products on human health. An overview of the progress of the proAction Initiative will also be provided. Finally, Canada’s role as a global leader in sustainability within the larger international perspective will be discussed.
