In a recent online poll, Progressive Dairyman asked, “What are you doing to combat lower milk prices?”

Fifteen percent said they are trying to lower feed costs. Another 20 percent said they are trying to improve herd health to reduce treatment costs. Four percent said they are trying other methods to combat the lower milk prices.

About 26 percent said they are closely critiquing financial records. The majority (35 percent) took it one step further; they are cutting back on capital expenditures.  end mark
