Emond has also worked for DFC from 1998 to 2006, first as assistant director of international trade and then as permanent representative for the supply management organizations (SM5) at the World Trade Organization in Geneva. She worked in the private sector for five years and is currently serving as the head of the Quebec General Delegation in Brussels.

"We are very excited to have Ms. Emond on our team. She will bring her knowledge from both the public and private sector to our organization. Having worked both in Canada and internationally, her skills, leadership and experience are what our industry needs in a senior spokesperson at this time," said Wally Smith, president.

“I am very proud to join an organization that demonstrates leadership and commitment to a modern, caring, responsible sector that brings a major contribution to the Canadian economy,” said Emond. “I know there are many challenges ahead, but I am confident that together, we will ensure a prosperous and stable future for the Canadian dairy industry.”  PD
