With 23 research activities funded under a second Dairy Research Cluster beginning in January 2014, we are focusing our attention on building a dynamic research community to report on research progress, innovations and results over the next four years of the program.
We plan to increase the knowledge and technology transfer in the dairy community in Canada and communicate progress and results to dairy producers, dairy stakeholders, extension specialists, veterinarians and other dairy professionals working in our industry.
We’ve revamped our Dairy Research Cluster communications and extension tools to improve engagement with members of our research community.
We’ve added social media tools like Twitter and Facebook to enhance our existing web-based presence and broaden the distribution of our classic communications tools like magazine articles, newsletters, article summaries, workshops, webinars and seminars to extend our communications outreach to dairy stakeholders.
We’re pleased to add a new dairy research blog to our toolkit where we can have a conversation with our dairy community (our herd) on the research we finance in production, genetics and genomics, and human nutrition and health.
It’s our place to talk dairy research. Dairy research blog will showcase the progress made from the 23 new research projects just launched, recent articles and extension information published thanks to the great work done by our science community in the first Dairy Research Cluster (48 projects completed from 2010-2013).
Our blog will also feature guest bloggers so you can meet the scientists doing the research and the many students that support them.
We invite you to join us online and discuss the multitude of activities in dairy research. Take a look around our new blog and sign up to receive regular updates.
Join us. Get social and get with the online herd! PD
