. As a result, they and their intestinal cells are nourished quickly and efficiently to reinforce the gut defence system.

DuPont Pioneer widens insect protection options
DuPont Pioneer has received approval from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) for Optimum AcreMax Xtra (OAMX) insect protection products in corn.
OAMX products represent a new addition to the Optimum AcreMax insect protection family with integrated refuge to help maximize yields, simplify regulatory compliance for growers and preserve in-plant insect protection technology.
Over the next few years, these products will transition to OAM XTreme products, offering dual above-ground and below-ground modes of action.
The company will increase its line of insect control options for growers in 2014 through its OAM, OAMX and OAM XTreme product lines, which will be available across multiple geographies and maturity zones.
OAMX products provide below-ground insect protection from corn rootworm, as well as dual mode of action above-ground control for pests such as corn borer.
These products integrate 90 percent of a trusted, high-yielding Pioneer brand hybrid containing Herculex Xtra insect protection combined with YieldGard Corn Borer insect protection and 10 percent of a similar non-Bt herbicide-tolerant hybrid to serve as the integrated corn borer and corn rootworm refuge.
