What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I am a graduate of the Public Relations program at Durham College. Certainly not an agricultural school, however my urban classmates knew a lot more about agriculture and specifically dairy by the time we graduated, and the education I received has certainly proven invaluable throughout my career.

Please describe your agricultural background.
I am a dairy girl through and through! I was raised on my family’s Holstein farm near Stratford, Ontario and was very active both on the farm and as a member of the dairy 4-H club.

In 2007, my husband and I relocated to his family’s dairy farm in Ayr, Ontario where he now farms full-time. Jerseys were the cows of choice with the Kyle family, however there is now lots of diversity with some Holsteins and even a handful of Brown Swiss.

Good cows are good cows! From a career perspective, I have always worked in agriculture as well. I started at the Semex Alliance in the marketing department straight out of school and later moved to the Ontario Holstein Branch where I looked after the Link magazine before coming to Holstein Canada this summer.

What territory will you cover?
I will be working out of the Brantford office, however will be working with staff, industry personnel and producers across the country.

I have always held Holstein Canada in high esteem and as the largest breed organization in the country, it was always on the top of my list as a company I would like to work for. When this position opened up, I jumped at the opportunity and was very excited to be chosen for the role.

My goal is to carry on that reputation of accuracy, timeliness and, of course, good reads. As one of the new additions to the department, it is also my goal to bring some fresh ideas and new perspective so that collectively we can present our messages in the best way possible regardless of the project.
