During baling, a RFID chip is attached to each bale, woven into one of the six strands of baling twine. BaleCreateTM baler software in the Hesston by Massey Ferguson large square baler captures the serial number of the RFID chip, along with bale weight and length, number of flakes, moisture, date and time baled, GPS location where the bale was created and additive applied (if any). The bale information is transferred from the baler to secure AGCO servers using the AGCO connectivity module (ACM). The ACM is a telematics module found in many AGCO machines.
After baling, the producer scans the RFID chip with an RFID reader (hand-held or mounted on the bale loader or stacker), which retrieves the bale’s unique serial number and communicates the bale ID to the Bale Link app through a Bluetooth low energy connection. The bale data is retrieved from the AGCO server via cellular service then displayed on a tablet or smartphone. Historical data also can be stored on a tablet or smartphone for offline viewing.
The app allows the user to identify, group and manage hay by field, stack or truck load and to generate a report showing the data for each bale within the respective group. The information can be emailed as a summarized PDF report, which is accompanied by a detailed CSV data file.
Using Bale Link, hay producers have the information they need to manage bale collection, movement, storage and traceability, as well as create reports to analyze and improve production, logistics, marketing and profitability.
Case IH adds new models to lineup of Farmall utility A series tractors
Case IH is adding three new models to its Farmall family of tractors: Farmall utility 95A, 105A and 115A. Known for exceptional value, the utility A series delivers performance without breaking the bank. The new models provide more horsepower, durability and useful features producers need to tackle demanding tasks on beef and dairy operations; mixed farms; and specialty operations, such as poultry farms, orchards and vineyards.
The new models feature an efficient yet powerful 4-cylinder engine that provides high torque for maximum performance – ideal for handling a variety of implements, such as a loader, round baler, auger, disc mower conditioner, disc rotary cutter and field mower. Designed to match the capacity of the Case IH L575 loader, these tractors are equipped with simple, powerful hydraulic PTO for increased productivity and efficiency. Boasting 120 engine HP,1 the new Farmall 115A delivers 100 PTO horsepower – the highest available in the Farmall utility A lineup chassis class.
The same cutting-edge, fuel-efficient technologies available across the lineup of Farmall tractors are incorporated into the new models to maximize efficiency and power while increasing uptime and productivity. With a proven FPT engine, the tractors do not require a diesel particulate filter or regeneration. The technology is designed to increase uptime and decrease operating costs, all while meeting Tier 4 B/Final engine emissions standards.
In addition, tractor models are engineered with more weight where it makes a difference – from heavy-duty powertrain components to the axle and transmission. Through this, Case IH creates a heavy, durable tractor to match demanding jobs and heavy loads. More weight enables operators to push more, pull more and lift more, and it may minimize the need for front and rear wheel weights.
New Holland launches new BigBaler 340 High Density, delivering all-out efficiency and productivity
New Holland Agriculture announced the launch of the BigBaler 340 High Density, now the most efficient large square baler in its segment. The BigBaler 340 High Density produces bales of up to 22% higher density than conventional large square balers, significantly increasing transport and bale handling efficiency. This baler offers an excellent solution for commercial hay producers and large livestock operations seeking greater return on investment (ROI) and productivity from their haying equipment.
The new MaxiSweep pickup allows for smooth and accurate intake at higher speeds, resulting in increased capacity and performance. This model also introduces the unique SmartShift gearbox, winner of the Agritechnica silver medal, that delivers a soft start-up resulting in greater comfort for the operator and overload protection for the tractor’s driveline.
The unique patented Loop Master knotting technology ensures best-in-class solid binding and protects the environment and the forage by greatly reducing the risk of twine snapping and eliminates twine cut offs. The short drawbar concept ensures excellent visibility for the operator and improved maneuverability. Comfort is further enhanced with a new intuitive user interface using the large IntelliView IV touchscreen display. A range of automated features, such as the IntelliCruise technology system, which automatically adjusts tractor speed, add to the productivity and comfort of the BigBaler 340 High Density. The BigBaler 340 High Density achieves denser bales through the longest bale chamber in its segment and a plunger force of as much as 58% more than Plus models. It also carries over from the previous model all the benefits of the highly efficient CropCutter system and the pre-compression chamber technology specifically developed for high-density baling.
All of these features, together with the higher rotor speed compared to the Plus models, result in outstanding efficiency in baling the field, fewer bales per field, more tons per trailer, and overall higher productivity with time and transport cost savings.
New Holland introduces new large-frame telehandler for material handling in agriculture
New Holland announced today the launch of the TH7.42 Elite large-frame telehandler, manufactured for agricultural operations and marking the first in a new series of telehandlers from the global equipment leader.
The TH7.42 Elite telehandler builds upon the solutions delivered by previous models with a new 6x3 PowerShift transmission designed to provide smoother shuttling and gear changes. This model features 129 horsepower, a 22.9-foot reach and 9,259-pound lift capacity, plus a dependable 4.5-liter engine.
The 6x3 PowerShift engine brings power and efficiency to any job, plus massive torque at a low rpm and great transient response. This model offers a semi-auto mode for short cycle jobs and a full-auto mode for long cycle jobs and road travel, plus up to three shifting modes. Powerful Tier 4 engines utilize AdBlue diesel exhaust fluid to avoid a costly diesel particulate filter and regeneration cycles, lowering the overall cost of ownership.
Customers will also find excellent all-around visibility and a comfortable, ergonomic interior. The strong design and boom suspension allow you to get tough jobs done with minimal bounce and maximum control. Finally, the longitudinal load moment indicator (LLMI) provides visual and audible warnings as maximum capacity is approached to ensure safety.
Consecutive models in the TH series of telehandlers will begin releasing late 2020. New Holland remains the only full-line agricultural equipment manufacturer to offer telehandlers in North America.
