The Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS), and Agriculture (USDA), will take public comment on those recommendations made by the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) from its report given in late February on dietary patterns and meal recommendations for Americans.

The DGAC report stirred criticism from many in the beef industry for its call upon Americans to reduce their red meat and processed meat intake, and to adopt more plant-based dietary patterns.
