Junior Show premiums will include cash awards paid to the top five heifers selected during the Sept. 29 show in Milwaukee. The champion junior heifer participant will receive $1,000. Reserve champion will receive $750, third overall $500, fourth overall $250, and fifth overall $125.

Other highlights of the Expo include John Toledo, a fourth generation rancher from California’s Central Valley, who will serve as judge for Ring 1 of the Open Show.

After receiving a degree in agricultural business with an animal science minor at Fresno State University, he became a partner with his father and brother in the family diversified farming and purebred cow/calf operation. Beginning at the county fair level, he pursued a judging career with regional and national shows over the past 23 years.

The Elite Cattle Sale on Sept. 28, which will feature a variety of cattle and the Supreme Champion Drive, will be managed by Larry Martin Livestock Sales of Clinton, Illinois. Martin has more than 30 years of experience managing and promoting world-class cattle sales throughout the country.

There also is plenty of opportunity for volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering at the Expo, send an email or call Charlene Becker at (920) 479-0658.  end mark
