CWT export assistance efforts focus on dairy products that positively impact producers’ milk checks: American-type cheeses, anhydrous milkfat, butter containing 82% butterfat, cream cheese and whole milk powder. All these products are moving the components of U.S. dairy farmer milk overseas.

CWT member cooperatives submitted 507 requests for export assistance during the first half of 2021. CWT provided assistance on 384 of these requests, resulting in contracts to sell 24.9 million pounds of cheddar, Gouda and Monterey Jack cheese, 11.2 million pounds of butter, 7.3 million pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 7.9 million pounds of cream cheese and 17.2 million pounds of whole milk powder. All these products are contracted to be delivered in 2021 and are the equivalent of 867.7 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.
