Reading is one of my favorite pastimes. It has been my entire life. I think my love for writing really derived from my love for reading. Reading a good story makes it so easy to appreciate well-constructed words. How those words bring to life characters and add color and light to a subject is truly the mark of a good story for me, and ultimately what determines a story worth my time.

Choosing words carefully shapes perceptions, influences actions and can either build or break relationships. Every word carries weight, and its impact can be long-lasting. Whether in personal communication or professional environments, the words chosen reveal our intentions, respect and understanding.

In everyday conversation, the words we choose reflect our emotional state and our capacity for empathy. A simple phrase, when phrased poorly, can unintentionally hurt someone, while a thoughtful choice can comfort or uplift.

In professional settings, carefully chosen words can convey confidence, expertise and clarity. In writing, whether in emails, presentations or reports, precision is key. Ambiguous or poorly chosen words may lead to misunderstandings, damaging credibility and trust. On the other hand, clear and concise language fosters better collaboration and decision-making.

In an era of rapid communication and social media, a single poorly chosen word can have immediate and far-reaching consequences. Selecting words with intention is an essential skill for effective communication. It requires awareness, sensitivity and an understanding of the context, audience and potential impact of what we say. By choosing our words thoughtfully, we promote understanding, respect and connection, promoting more positive interactions in all areas of life.

Over the past six years, I consider myself abundantly blessed to have been given the chance to share some of those words with you. I’m sad to say that these will be some of the last words I share with you through Progressive Forage.

While I couldn’t be more grateful for my time here, other life opportunities for myself and my family have been slowly emerging over the past year, and it is time that I fully commit to those opportunities and leave Progressive Forage to those who can dedicate themselves to it in their entirety.

With that said, I feel the need to thank you. Thank you for giving me the honor to share my thoughts with you, and thank you for your time in reading so many of those words. I will miss so many of you that I have corresponded with over the years and I am praying for you always.

Although the idea of “last words” typically has a bit of a morbid connotation, I feel it appropriate to take advantage of the opportunity to leave you with my final words: Commit your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, for He is the way, the truth and the life. Because he was born into a lowly manger so many centuries ago, we have the ultimate gift in Him and the chance to live eternally.

Until then, may you bloom where you are planted and thank you for every blessed word.
