The board of director of the American Guernsey Association (AGA) has appointed Dave Trotter as interim executive secretary, and Dr. Morey Miller as interim general manager for Purebred Publishing, subsidiary of the American Guernsey Association, following the resignation of Seth Johnson earlier this month.
“I am confident that both gentlemen have the drive and determination to lead the AGA and Purebred Publishing through this transition,” says AGA Vice President Emily Hartmann. “Their past involvement will provide stability and continuity while the search for Johnson’s replacement is underway.”Trotter has served as a member of the AGA board for the last four years and has led the group as its president for the past three years.
“I am extremely excited to be able to have this opportunity to give back to the Guernsey breed and work with the breeders as the AGA begins this new path to a bright future,” says Trotter, who recently celebrated his retirement after a 27-year career with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
Miller is currently serving his fourth term as a member of AGA board and has spearheaded the Purebred Publishing Board of Directors for the last four years as president. Both gentlemen will work closely with newly appointed AGA Treasurer Lee Kohler as they move forward in these positions.
The board plans to have a new executive secretary in place by its 2014 National Guernsey Convention, June 26-30 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
