Hosted by the Dane County Dairy Promotion Committee, this annual event brings cows and calves to the Capitol Square to help educate people within the city about dairy, a major industry in the state.
Besides the opportunity to meet some beautiful bovines, there were children’s activities in the Ed”Moo”cation Zone and Get “Moo”ving Zone.
Multiple vendors touted delicious dairy products from grilled cheese and ice-cold milk to ice cream, cream puffs and fried cheese curds.
State FFA Officers, the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs and other local royalty shared their knowledge through short presentations at the entertainment stage. Music also spouted from this location as the Soggy Prairie Boys played for the crowd.
An impressive crew of almost 150 volunteers clad in shirts proclaiming them to be Moo Experts participated in the event. Some of them were dairy producers who welcomed questions from the crowd.
Here’s to another great start to June Dairy Month! PD
