New P5 quota increase aims to stimulate milk production

This issuance is in part due to the Canadian Milk Supply Management Committee’s (CMSMC) recent approval of the Cheese Export Program and the expected depletion of surplus butter stocks by dairy year-end. Fluid milk market has also shown strength over recent months.

The Quota Committee will continue to monitor market and production, and will provide updates if further adjustments are required.
